love is plentiful

Chaz Lamar Cruz is a writer, actor, educator, UX designer from Los Angeles, Ca with Texan-Louisianan roots. He was raised in the deserts and cities of southern California by his maternal grandparents - this upbringing informs his compassion towards addiction, elders, and survivors of trauma. 

He earned his B.A. from Cal State LA, and M.A. from the University of San Francisco. Chaz centers critical womanist/feminist, queer theory, and critical race theory in their educational and professional life with love, engagement, and intentionality. He believes education can be a unifying and liberating tool.

Chaz's work is informed by his interest of truth telling and exploring identity as an ever evolving Black, queer, 1st generation academic, lovechild. His work primarily explores the complexities of identity, race, gender, sexuality, art and futurity.

He is the co-author of two novels, IN CASE YOU FORGOT and BUSY AIN’T THE HALF OF IT. As a storyteller, Chaz often explores the complexities and nuances of everyday life.
